The British motoring brand Morris Garages will finally take the covers off of the 2023 Hector facelift on January 5. The company has kept the facelifted model under wraps for quite some time now. However, a few days ago, the company rolled out the 1,00,000th unit of the Hector from its production facility in Halol, Gujarat which was this new facelifted version of the SUV. The 10,00,000th vehicle was heavily covered with flowers to hide the updated front grille.

The new Hector will have a significantly redesigned front profile, minor changes to the rear profile, and an entirely new interior layout with a ton of new features. Reportedly the substantially revised MG Hector will get a wider, bolder-looking front grille that now has more angular surrounds with a dark chrome finish and inserts with diamond-themed designs. The split daytime running LEDs will still be present, however the low positioned headlights will now have more angular, black chrome surrounds.

Moving on the back of the forthcoming SUV the rear bumper will now boast faux exhaust tips, and the tail lights now get updated LED inserts. The 18-inch alloy wheels are anticipated to receive a new design, although the side profile appears to be mostly unaltered.

Inside, MG has completely redesigned the cabin with a new layout that includes a wider, lower center console with an aluminum finish, a new, fully-digital instrument console, a new, slanted, and bigger 14-inch portrait-style infotainment system, and slimmer AC vents. A panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, motorized front seats, leather interior, and automatic temperature control are all included in this upgraded edition as standard equipment as well.

The upcoming MG Hector will retain its mechanical specifications and won’t receive any additional powertrain options in addition to all the cosmetic upgrades. A 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with a choice of a 6-speed manual or CVT transmission and a 2.0-liter diesel engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox will both be available for the new, significantly revised MG Hector. As for the pricing, we can expect a little hike to justify the upgrades done by the British automaker.

In other MG news, the company recently introduced the facelifted model of its compact SUV ZS, marketed as Astor in the Indian subcontinent. The redesigned MG ZS and its electric variant, the ZS EV, have both been introduced for foreign markets. For this new facelift as well the company has made some drastic design alerations and t he front profile has the most significant changes. There are also modest changes in the side and rear profiles as well. The updated MG ZS has been made public in Thailand, where the name of the car is now MG VS.

As of yet MG has not announced if or when these updated ZS (Astor) and ZS EV models would arrive in India. However, given that the present versions of both SUVs were introduced in India not long ago, it is likely that MG will release these upgraded versions around the end of 2023 or at the start of 2024.
