2023 Tata Harrier facelift spotted testing under camouflage
While the Tata Harrier had a sluggish start at the time of its launch, it has turned out to be a phenomenal success, ever since the first update came out at the beginning of 2020. However, it has been three years now since that update, and the Harrier is currently lacking some new-age features offered by the newer competitors. That might change soon, as Tata Motors is testing a facelifted version of the Harrier on Indian roads.
Recently, a test mule of the updated Tata Harrier was spied on the test in a fully camouflaged form, which can be seen in a YouTube video uploaded by M2S Car Info. This version of the test mule has retro-fitted rounded headlamps, as the stock headlamps are fully covered by the wraps. The heavy camouflage at the front indicates that the updated Harrier will get a fresh new front end, comprising of a tweaked front grille and new headlamps, which are possible to get all-LED illumination this time around.
ADAS features
The updated Tata Harrier also gets a tweaked design for the front bumper, in the middle of which there is the rectangular part that’s touted to be the radar for the new ADAS system. The direct rival of the Tata Harrier – the Mahindra XUV700 – debuted with a full suite of level-2 ADAS features, and with this new update, the Tata Harrier might also get the same, at least in the higher-spec versions. Tata might even tweak the dual-functioning daytime running LEDs, but will retain the split theme for the headlamps which have become the identity of the Harrier.

There are minimal tweaks visible in the side and rear profiles of the Tata Harrier, though the SUV is seen riding with a new set of silver alloy wheels which will possibly be offered in the mid-spec variants. The higher-spec variants are expected to get a new set of 18-inch machined alloy wheels and revised LED inserts for the tail lamps.
Tata Motor has hinted that it will be staying away from the petrol engines for the Harrier and Safari. Most likely, the facelifted version will continue to be offered only with the currently-available 2.0-litre diesel engine. In its current state of tune, the engine can produce a maximum power output of 170 PS and a torque output of 350 Nm. It is offered with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.
Last year, both Safari and Harrier were spotted testing together under heavy camouflage suggesting that it might get a petrol engine. If we get to see a petrol engine in these SUVs, we can expect to see performance numbers like 150 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of maximum torque. These figures are somehow lower than the 170 PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of maximum torque from the 2.0-litre diesel engine available in both of them.
