2024 Ford Everest (Endeavour) Arrives Into India: Launching In 2025 As Toyota Fortuner Rival

0 21

The rumors related to Ford’s reentry into the Indian market are getting stronger with each passing day. We now have a new set of images that show that the Endeavour, or Everest as the global market knows it, has already arrived in India. The SUV was recently spotted on a flatbed somewhere in Chennai. When launched, the all-new Ford Endeavour will take on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and the MG Gloster.

The image of the Ford Everest on a flatbed has been shared by the 4×4 India Facebook page. In the images, we see a flatbed stuck in a traffic jam somewhere in Chennai. The recovery truck is carrying a special vehicle, a grey-colored Ford Everest without any camouflage. The SUV seen here looks like the international model, which is sold in Nepal and other neighboring countries. It is possible that Ford has imported the Everest for testing purposes.

Another possibility is that someone from South India has privately imported this car. Recently, a Ford F150 Raptor was also imported and registered in India. If you look carefully, we see a Trend badge on the lower part of the tailgate of this SUV. The 4×4 badge, which we saw in other videos, is also missing from this SUV. It could mean that Ford is planning to offer both 2WD and 4×4 variants for the Indian market. The lower 2WD variant would actually help Ford in pricing the SUV more competitively.

From the videos on the internet, we already know that the Ford Endeavour comes with a completely redesigned front fascia. The front grille with a large Ford logo gives it an imposing look. The headlamp design on this Endeavour is inspired by, or similar to, the F-Series trucks sold in the US. The vertically stacked projector headlamps with C-shaped LED DRLs integrated into them give the Endeavour a muscular look.

The SUV also offers ADAS features, 19-inch alloy wheels, side steps, and so on. The image shows the rear of the SUV where the Mustang-inspired clear lens LED tail lamps can be seen. The Everest badge is actually under a piece of glass that runs across the width of the tailgate. There is no LED bar light connecting the taillamps.

The upcoming Ford Endeavour comes with a redesigned cabin too. It gets a large touchscreen infotainment system. There are physical buttons and rotary knobs under the screen for climate control, wireless phone charging, leather-wrapped seats, electrically adjustable driver and co-driver seats, a multi-function steering wheel with ADAS controls, a fully digital instrument cluster, grab handles to facilitate entry and exit, a panoramic sunroof, and more features offered with the SUV.

Like all American SUVs, there is no lack of space and storage compartments in the cabin. Even the third-row passengers get phone charging ports and AC vents. The space in the last row, however, is only suitable for children. The Ford Endeavour or Everest is available with a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine, which generates around 206 PS and 500 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

It needs to be seen if Ford will offer the same twin-turbo engine as international variants or will they offer the same old 2.0-liter turbocharged variant that was offered in the previous generation Endeavour in India.

The upcoming Ford Endeavour is not going to be an affordable SUV. It will compete with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq, and is expected to be priced anywhere around Rs 40 lakh and above.
