7 new Hyundai cars and SUVs launching in India during 2023
The South Korean automotive giant Hyundai Motor Company’s subsidiary Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) which also happens to be the second largest automaker in India is all set to begin the new year with a bang. The company reportedly will be unveiling and launching a few new vehicles at the 2023 Auto Expo. According to reports, the company also has an extensive launch schedule for the entire 2023 calendar year. Hyundai will be launching around 7 new cars in 2023 of which a few will be sedans, SUVs, and also hatchbacks along with two EVs.
Ioniq 5
First off in the list of forthcoming launches from Hyundai, we will see the official launch of the premium all-electric crossover – Ioniq 5. The company recently announced the commencement of reservations for the model. Interested customers can reserve the Ioniq 5 at a booking amount of Rs 1 lakh.
Internationally, there are two battery pack options for the IONIQ 5: a 58 kWh single motor arrangement with 169 horsepower and a stated range of 383 kilometres, and a 325 horsepower twin motor 72.6 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 481 kilometres. Advanced heads-up displays, remote parking assistance, dual-zone climate control, and level 2 ADAS are just a few of the EV’s standout features.

2023 Creta Facelift
Hyundai one of the most popular SUVs the Creta is all set to receive a yet another facelift. Officially Hyundai has launched the Creta Facelift in various international markets, including South Africa, Thailand, and Indonesia. The facelifted SUV will have several visual improvements over the outgoing model while maintaining the same mechanical specifications.
In terms of changes the front fascia of the mid-size SUV will be changed entirely and will now heavily resemble its elder sibling the Hyundai Tucson. It will also follow Hyundai’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design direction. The new parametric front grille covers the major part of the front fascia and the LED DRLs are well integrated into the fin-shaped elements. Apart from the front not a whole lot of changes are expected in the upcoming SUV.
Micro-SUV – Punch Rival
Hyundai is getting ready to introduce a new mini-SUV to compete with the likes of the wildly successful micro SUV Punch. According to reports, the Hyundai mini SUV has been spotted doing test drives in South Korea, which has prompted the return of this new product to India.
Recently, a test vehicle for the aforementioned SUV was spotted parked in a parking lot draped in a heavy camouflage. This little SUV will be positioned below Hyundai’s Venue subcompact SUV. According to rumors, Hyundai will showcase it during the 2023 Auto Expo. If it does, we may anticipate the debut of this micro-SUV in India around the second half of 2023. It will be unveiled as the Tata Punch and Citroen C3’s main competition.
2023 Verna Facelift
Next up in the pipeline will be the 2023 Verna facelift. The all-new Verna this time will have a radical shift in exterior and interior design and could become a big hit for the brand. The all-new Verna has already been spotted road testing in India for quite sometime now and recently the interior of this forthcoming sedan was also caught on camera.
According to recent information, the all-new Hyundai Verna will be the final diesel car in the C-Segment, a decreasing segment threatened by the rising dominance of small SUVs. Hyundai will retain the 1.5 litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine, but with new emission equipment to fulfil the Real Time Driving Emissions (RDE) standards that will go into effect in 2023.

In terms of changes we can expect to see only a few alterations in the mildly popular compact sedan. It is anticipated to have a brand-new front grille, front bumper, and headlights. The automaker could also replace the existing set of alloy wheels with new one. Meanwhile in terms of the drivetrain side of things, the new model portfolio will no longer provide a diesel engine and instead offer 83 horsepower, 1.2 litres of four-cylinder gasoline, and 100 horsepower, 1.0 litres of three-cylinder gasoline.
2023 Grand i10 NIOS Facelift
The facelifted model of the hatchback sibling of Aura – the Grand I10 Nios is also on the launch list of the South Korean automaker. According to speculations, the Grand i10 Nios will sport a freshly styled front bumper, boomerang-shaped LED DRLs next to the bumper, and the brand’s Sensuous Sportiness design language just like its sedan counterpart. Additionally, there will be some alterations done within the cabin as well. The interior design and upholstery of the new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios might also recieve some mild updates.
As for the powertrain the Hyundai will not make any changes under the bonnet of this hatchback implying that it will still come with the 1.2L normally aspirated and 1.0L turbocharged gasoline engines. The 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol engines make 83bhp with 114Nm and 100bhp with 172Nm respectively. There will also be a CNG fuel variant available as well.

Coming 2023, Hyundai will introduce the newest iteration of its SUV Kona. The SUV was only recently introduced by the company in international markets, and based on how it appears, it has significantly changed from the previous model, with an entirely new appearance and enhanced amenities.
With pixelated lighting, a set of distinctive 19-inch alloy wheels, and a shut-off air intake with pixel-inspired designs, the Hyundai Kona EV will feature an extremely polaring design. T he new crossover is 25 mm wider, 150 mm longer, and has a wheelbase that is 60 mm longer than the outgoing model. The interior has also undergone a comprehensive makeover and is heavily influenced by the Ioniq 5 EV.
