A Detailed Comparison of Base Diesel Variants

Hyundai launched the 2024 version of its popular SUV, the Creta, in the market a few weeks ago. The all-new Creta has started reaching dealerships, and deliveries for the same have also commenced. The Hyundai Creta competes with cars like the Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder in the segment. We have started seeing several contents related to the Hyundai Creta on the internet lately. The latest one is a comparison video where the base E variant of the Hyundai Creta diesel is compared with the base HTE variant of the Kia Seltos diesel.

The video has been shared by Arun Panwar on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger talks about the differences in the base variant of both these models. The ex-showroom price of the E variant Hyundai Creta diesel is Rs 12.44 lakh. The Kia Seltos HTE diesel, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 12 lakh. The vlogger mentions that both these cars offer similar features, but still, the Hyundai Creta is more expensive. Starting with the front, the Seltos gets bi-function projector halogen headlamps, while the Creta gets projector headlamps for low beam and reflector-type lamps for high beam.

The vlogger is not very happy about the front look of the Creta and says that it looks too similar to the Venue now. The Seltos, on the other hand, has a distinct identity, and people will recognize it. Both the SUVs get blacked-out front grilles with no chrome garnishes. There are halogen-type turn indicators and a muscular-looking front bumper on both the SUVs. The vlogger calls the bonnet of the Creta upright, and that gives it a taller look from the front. The side profile of both the SUVs remains unchanged, and they get turn indicators installed on fenders. The 16-inch steel rims are common on both vehicles, while the design of the wheel cap is different.

At the rear, both the SUVs get redesigned tail lamps. They both have connected LED bar lights at the rear. The light bar on the Creta glows, while the Seltos gets a reflector bar with the brand logo in the center. The base variants do not come with LED tail lamps in both the SUVs. The SUV gets all four power windows, a D-cut steering wheel, manually adjustable ORVMs, a digital instrument cluster, a premium-looking gear knob, a dual-tone cabin, a 60:40 split rear seat, rear AC vents, type C charger ports, and so on. Both the SUVs do not come with any type of infotainment system and speakers from the factory.

The Seltos comes with all-black interiors with a regular steering wheel. The instrument cluster is the same on both SUVs, but the door handles are finished in Silver shade in the Seltos. The car also comes with a variety of a grey-colored gear knob that looks cheap. Both SUVs get fabric seats, and the Seltos does not get split seats and an armrest for rear passengers; however, it does offer manual window shades for rear passengers. The owner mentions that the interior and exterior of the Seltos and Creta can be easily customized using aftermarket accessories. Both the SUVs use the same 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine that generates 115 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque. The Seltos seen here is the iMT version, but after the launch of the Creta, Seltos also introduced the manual version.
