ABC Mixes Up Quavo With Takeoff in Year-End Tribute

0 53

ABC paid tribute to Takeoff during its 2022 end-of-year special, however, the network made the blunder of confusing the late rapper with Quavo.

During the “In Memorium” segment, which aired on Dec. 26, ABC showed a photo of Takeoff’s uncle performing, which enraged fans on social media.

ABC shared an apology the following day, tweeting on Tuesday: “We apologize for the unfortunate error in a previous version of ‘The Year: 2022.’ It has been corrected.”

Takeoff was just 28 years old when he was fatally shot outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas on Nov. 1. A suspect has since been charged for Takeoff’s murder after footage showed the man, 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark brandishing a gun in one hand and apparently opening fire.

In the weeks following his arrest, Clark and his lawyer have attempted to lower his bond multiple times. He was originally being held on a $2 million bond, which was lowered to $1 million. His attorney tried to again lower it to $300,000, in order to bond him out of jail, but the judge decided his bond will remain at $1 million.
