It is currently unknown if casting for the live-action adaptation of Miles Morales has begun. However, there is one actor, who starred in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, who plans to do whatever it takes to land that role for himself. If that is not dedication, I don’t know what is.

Shameik Moore announced on his Instagram Story his plans to “lose weight” so he can play Miles Morales in the live-action film. Moore is already playing Miles in the animated Spider-Man Sony Picture film, so it’s interesting to see that he is willing to pull out all the stops to ensure that he is the one and only Miles Morales, both in real life and through animation.

Moore has been very vocal about his role as Miles Morales and how he would like to play the character outside of the Sony Pictures Animation film. In an interview with Esquire, he states that he would love to play Miles in a live-action setting. He also says that people already recognize him for his voice-acting role, and fans already see him as Miles Morales.

“I’m not even the live-action version, and people are taking to me as Miles Morales. I feel like I might be getting a little bit more notoriety for playing this voice of Miles Morales than normal circumstances. Maybe I’m wrong. I feel like people that are following me—and are fans of my work—those people are the ones that are really like, Yo, you’re Spider-Man. Keep going, dude. This is major….’

“…There’s so much I want to do, man. Specifically in the film space—I would love to play live-action Miles Morales.”

Information about this upcoming Miles Morales live-action adaptation remains unknown So far, Sony Pictures producer, Amy Pascal, has announced that it’s already in the works. Speculation is swirling about whether this live-action film will be part of the MCU or just be Sony Pictures movie, potentially in the Venom-verse. At the same time, a release date has yet to be announced. Fortunately, Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man star, Tom Holland, said recently that he’d be happy to see Miles enter the MCU one way or another.

If you want to see Moore’s performance as Miles Morales, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now showing in theaters.
