AI is helping Samsung sell a lot more washing machines – SamMobile

0 17

Other than mobile devices, Samsung makes a laundry list of products, including home appliances like washing machines, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, and a lot more. Since artificial intelligence is something that everyone seems to be talking about these days, it was only a matter of time before the AI label was slapped on all sorts of devices.

Samsung’s gone all-in on AI as well, so it’s no surprise that we’re seeing the company sprinkle some AI fairy dust on its home appliances as well. It seems to be working, but its AI-enabled appliances seem to be in high demand.

Samsung will launch more appliances with AI

Samsung launched the Bespoke AI Combo, an all-in-one washer-dryer, in February. The appliance sold 1,000 units in three days of its launch in South Korea, and has now surpassed 3,000 units sold in Samsung’s home country.

The company has equipped this appliance with a high-performance chip which runs the Tizen operating system-based AI hub. Users control its various washing and drying features through a 7-inch touchscreen display.

The smart capabilities also extend to enabling users to control their smart home devices that are connected to Samsung’s SmartThings platform. As for what AI magic does to help clean clothes more efficiently is another discussion entirely.

Nevertheless, this is a very capable appliance in its own right, helping users save a lot of space since they don’t have to install a separate washer and dryer. It also saves time because they don’t have to transfer the laundry between machines.

This isn’t the only AI-equipped we’ll see from Samsung soon. The company is planning to bring more appliances with AI this year, precisely what AI will achieve on those devices remains to be seen.
