Google has just announced Android 13 (Go edition), a build of Android 13 for budget smartphones. It has been five years since Android (Go edition) was announced, and Google said that there are now over 250 million monthly active devices powered by Android Go.

Android 13 (Go edition) took its time to arrive following the Android 13, but it’s finally here. This update brings Material You to budget phones. You’ll be able to customize your entire phone’s color scheme to coordinate with your wallpaper.
This update also brings some key features from Android 13, such as Notification Permissions, App Language Preferences, and more. Another change that is worth noting has to do with direct software updates.
Google announced that it’s bringing Google Play System Update to Go devices with this update. This will ensure that Android Go devices get important software updates quickly, and that they’re not necessarily connected to major Android releases.
This will lessen the strain on the phone’s storage, and it will make delivering security updates much faster. So, all in all, it’s a very welcomed change, and quite possibly the most important change in Android 13 (Go edition).
The ‘Discover’ feed is also a part of the update
Do note that swiping right on the home screen in Android 13 (Go edition) will take you to the Discover feed. It’s the same thing that happens on Android 13. We’re not sure if the design will be the same, though.
