It may have taken longer than expected but, at long last, Android 13 is available for Samsung‘s Galaxy S10 Lite in the US. The “Lite” flagship is picking up the big Android update stateside nearly two months after the rollout began in international markets. The update brings a plethora of goodies that are part and parcel of the new Android version as well as the Korean firm’s One UI 5.0 custom software.

The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy S10 Lite in the US is rolling out with firmware version G770U1UEU6HVL5 (via). You might have noticed that it’s the unlocked model (“U1” after the model number G770 denotes the unlocked US version).

Thankfully, the handset wasn’t sold carrier-locked stateside, so this rollout is for everyone. Even better, the update is already live on most networks, including AT&T, Verizon, Xfinity Mobile, Comcast, Cricket Wireless, Bluegrass Cellular, US Cellular, Nextech, and Cellular South. Samsung should cover units on the remaining few networks soon.

As said earlier, this update contains plenty of goodies for Galaxy S10 Lite users. Samsung has refreshed the UI with improved system animations and transitions, bolder app icons with gradient colors, and newer customization options.

There are also a host of new features and improvements all around. You’re getting some privacy, security, and accessibility improvements as well. Long story short, Android 13 and Samsung’s One UI 5.0 will bring an enhanced experience to the Galaxy S10 Lite. All this while ensuring maximum privacy and security of users.

Along with these goodies, Galaxy S10 Lite users in the US are also getting the December 2022 Android security patch. Last month’s security release patches several dozen vulnerabilities, including a few critical ones. Samsung has already rolled out the January 2023 SMR (Security Maintenance Release) to the device in some international markets. But, the US version of the phone isn’t getting that just yet.

This may be the final feature update for the Galaxy S10 Lite

Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 Lite in early 2020 with Android 10 onboard. Over the past three years, the device has picked up updates to Android 11, Android 12, and Android 13. Sadly, that’s all it will ever get. The affordable Samsung flagship is not eligible for Android 14.

Worse yet, the Galaxy S10 Lite doesn’t seem to be getting One UI 5.1 either. The company recently said that the new One UI version, which will debut with the Galaxy S23 series next month, will trickle down to all flagship models launched after the Galaxy S20.

The Galaxy S10 Lite arrived a month earlier than the Galaxy S20, and as such, it seems to be missing out on One UI 5.1. Going forward, the handset will only get security updates.
