Apple’s 100th store in Asia Pacific opens in Samsung’s home country Korea

Apple has opened a new store in Hongdae, Seoul, South Korea. It is the company’s 100th store in the Asia-Pacific region, marking a significant milestone for the company, and the 7th store in the country. Hongdae is a neighborhood named after Hongik University, which is nearby. Apple says “Located in the center of a bustling university neighborhood in Seoul, Apple Hongdae offers an exciting space for students, their families, and the local community to discover and shop Apple’s incredible lineup of products and services.”

Apple Hongdae has a staff of nearly 100 members, which might seem large but that’s not unusual as some of Apple’s other stores also have a similarly-sized staff, including Apple BKC in India. The store also has “sustainable design elements” and “free Today at Apple sessions, including a limited-time Pop-Up Studio featuring hip-hop artist Beenzino.” Apple further adds “Students, families, and the local community can drop in and collect ideas, art, photos, and more for their own 2024 vision boards using Freeform on iPad.”

Apple is offering Apple Education Pricing at the store. Plus, the company has opened the store around the time when schools are reopening and the store is near Hongik University. These three reasons could pull a lot of students toward the store.
