Apple’s terrifying retelling of Hurricane Katrina gets a tense new trailer

0 66

Apple’s big new thriller is a real-life retelling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster and how people dealt with the aftermath at a local hospital. Now, Apple TV+ has shared the first full-length trailer for the series that will premiere on August 12.

The new series, starring Vera Farmiga, Robert Pine, and Cherry Jones, is directed by Carlton Cuse and Joh Ridley and will see its first three episodes arrive on August 12. From there, a new episode will debut each Friday through September 16 when the season finale will air on Apple TV+.

While Apple had already shared a teaser for the new series, this is the first time that we’ve been shown a full-length trailer for something that will no doubt be as harrowing to watch as it will be fascinating.

Based on actual events and adapted from the book by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Sheri Fink, “Five Days at Memorial” chronicles the impact of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath on a local hospital. When the floodwaters rose, power failed and heat soared, exhausted caregivers at a New Orleans hospital were forced to make decisions that would follow them for years to come.

Five Days at Memorial will be the latest addition to a growing Apple TV+ catalog that includes kids’ shows, family movies, gritty dramas, and thrillers all under one roof. All of that is available for $4.99 per month while the Apple One subscription bundles it with Apple Music and other services.
