0 59

In an upcoming episode of National Geographic’s Running Wild With Bear Grylls, Ashton Kutcher acknowledged having a major health issue. In a sneak peek of the episode on Monday, August 8, through Access, the 44-year-old actor disclosed he had an extremely severe and uncommon form of vasculitis, which gave him better respect for his senses.

Bear Grylls and Ashton talked about the incident and how long it took him to fully recover as they hiked through the woods. “Two years ago, I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis. It knocked out my vision. It knocked out my hearing. It knocked out all my equilibrium. It took me like a year to build it all back up,” the actor explained.

Ashton claimed that his entire outlook changed as a result of the difficult battle with vasculitis. “You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone until you go, ‘I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to see again. I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to hear again. I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to walk again,” he explained. “I’m lucky to be alive.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, vasculitis causes inflammation of the blood vessels, and many of its types are uncommon. Fever, headache, weariness, and pains are among the common symptoms, but the condition can also cause hearing ringing or loss, eye discomfort, or even blindness. Ashton’s involvement in Running Wild comes months after he and his 38-year-old wife Mila Kunis started a massive fundraising effort to aid Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

The former members of That 70s Show donated millions to Mila’s native Ukraine, and even Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of that nation, praised the pair for their work. Additionally, the president of Ukraine uploaded a picture of his Zoom call with the actors. On the Zoom call, Ashton and Mila were chatting with Zelenskyy side by side.
