ASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate managed to survive durability tests

0 30

The ASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate is the company’s latest and most powerful smartphone, and it just got durability tested. Zack from the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel managed to get his hands on the device, and decided to check how durable the phone is.

The ASUS ROG Phone 7 ultimate survives a series of durability tests

As per usual, the entire durability testing was published on YouTube, and the video is embedded below the article. This 7-minute video shows you a series of durability tests, starting with the screen scratching test, all the way to the bend test.

The phone’s display scratches at level 6 (pick), with deeper grooves at level 7. That is perfectly normal considering that the Gorilla Glass Victus protects this display.

The phone’s frame and buttons are made from metal, while the power button is also removable. The in-display fingerprint scanner continued to function even after the screen above it got scratched up.

The display lasted for about 30 seconds facing direct flame from a lighter before it started going white. That is not a particularly useful test, but Zack likes doing it regardless, for the fun of it.

The device did bend way more than it should, but it did not break

ASUS’ ROG Phone 7 Ultimate also managed to survive the last test, the bend test. The phone did bend way more than it should, and it also stayed in that position, but it did not break.

Zack did break several ROG phones before this, so he didn’t have high hopes for this one. Still, the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate managed to do just fine, and survive the bend test.

This handset is packed with features. It not only comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and the latest RAM and flash storage, but it also includes a 165Hz display. It has a rather sophisticated cooling system on the inside, and a number of gaming functions too. On top of that, it is IP54 certified, supports 65W charging, and more.
