Cricket is one of the most celebrated sports in India. Many of us reading this story would have played this sport at least once in our lives. As kids, many of us would have gotten into trouble for breaking the window glass of our neighbors too. A similar video has been going viral on the internet since yesterday.

The only difference is that this didn’t happen in the back alley behind your house but in a proper cricket stadium during a match. Australian cricketer Ellyse Perry hit a six during a match in Bengaluru. The ball went straight and hit the window glass of a Punch EV parked next to the boundary.

Why was a Tata Punch EV parked next to the boundary? Well, it was a regular match, but it was the Women’s Premier League, and the Tata Punch EV was the official car of the tournament. The incident took place during a match between UP Warriorz and Royal Challengers. The match was conducted at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The video of Ellyse Perry’s shot has been circulating on the internet for the last couple of days. On the 5th ball of the 19th over of the match, Perry hit an 80-meter-long six. The Tata Punch EV, as usual, was parked beyond the boundary line, and the ball went straight towards the car and shattered the rear glass window. Perry’s reaction after the ball hit the car can also be seen in the same clip. RCB did win the match against UP Warriorz, and when she went to collect the player of the match trophy, she was a bit worried about the damages.

In another video, Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana, who is from the same team as Perry, can be heard having a discussion about the shot. “I was a bit worried, not sure if I have insurance to cover me. So, in a bit of strife there. I hope no one is charging me for that.”

When Perry hit the six, the whole stadium could be heard cheering for the team, and even the team members were excited. Their reaction changed when they saw the car’s window was shattered by the ball.
