There were several cameos in the film, and Ben Affleck was also going to have one.
Yes, it’s true. Ben Affleck would have an exciting scene in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. Michael, who played Allan in the film, revealed the same. Michael ended up filming the scene initially planned for Ben. Remember the scene where Allan starts fighting and beating up some men? It was first written for Affleck.
During a Q&A with The AV Club, Michael Cera revealed why Ben Affleck couldn’t be a part of the movie. He said, “I wasn’t even supposed to fight in the movie. Am I allowed to say what it was supposed to be? It was supposed to be Ben Affleck. Right? Am I allowed to say that? I think Ben wanted to do it, but he was directing his movie. They’re like, ‘Okay, Ben’s out; something has to happen here. So you’re gonna fight them.’ So I had to jump in with the stunt team.”

Cera further added that he had just recovered from COVID-19 and he had to train for the scene. He quipped how he almost died while doing the warm-up. When he lay down, the crew had to send a nurse to him in his trailer. Before the second rehearsal, Cera took a break and went back home.
