Ben Affleck’s mishap after son, 10, takes Lamborghini’s wheel

As usual, the paparazzi were out in full force for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s latest outing in Los Angeles Sunday, so they were able to capture the moment that Affleck let his 10-year-old son get behind the wheel of a very expensive Lamborghini SUV at a car dealership and watch him hit a BMW.

While it’s fortunate that neither car sustained damage, the incident generated headlines that could prove embarrassing for both Affleck and his son, whom he shares with  Jennifer Garner.

Among other things, the incident shows that a very rich star like Affleck doesn’t seem too  concerned about the potential consequences of letting his 10-year-old take the wheel of a car with a suggested retail price of $221,506.

The mishap occurred when Affleck, Lopez and Affleck’s son, Samuel, were visiting 777 Exotics, a luxury car rental dealership, TMZ reported. Affleck let Samuel get in the driver’s seat of a yellow Urus, which was parallel-parked in front of a white BMW.

Lopez got in the back seat while Affleck stood outside. With the engine revving, Samuel put the Lamborghini in reverse and promptly hit the BMW, TMZ said. From video shot by paparazzi, it appears that the rear bumper on the passenger side of the Lamborghini made contact with the BMW’s front wheel and possibly the fender.

Samuel immediately hopped out of the Lamborghini and checked on both cars. His father did the same, comforting his son with a hug.

As a spokesperson for Affleck told TMZ, neither the Lamborghini nor the BMW retained damage.

An employee from the dealership, 777 Exotics, told the New York Post that the cars in their lot are parked tightly together.

“When (Samuel) got into the car, it jerked back and forth,” the employee said. “We have a small lot and the cars are close.”

The employee said there were no hard feelings. “Everybody was OK,” he said. The employee also said that Affleck and Lopez continued to browse the dealership.

“The dealership would more than gladly welcome the stars back,” he added. “Affleck loves cars. We hope they come in again.”

Samuel is Affleck’s youngest child with Garner. The exes also share daughters Violet, 16, and Seraphina, 13. They have co-parented their three children since they first broke up in 2015 and finalized their divorce in 2018.

Affleck and Lopez got engaged in April for the second time after rekindling their romance from the 2000s. Lopez shares 14-year-old twins with ex-husband, Marc Anthony.

On Father’s Day, Lopez gushed about Affleck’s qualities as a parent, according to Page Six. She noticeably left Anthony out of her newsletter post where she praised Affleck for being a “consistent, loving, selfless father.”

“I have had a front row seat to watching how you father for over a year now,” Lopez wrote, noting that the Oscar winner also cares for her children “without obligation.”

“You are affectionate and engaged in every moment they are with you,” she continued. “It’s honestly one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.”
