Bollywood Actor Suneil Shetty’s new SUV is a Rs 1 crore Land Rover Defender off road suv [Video]

Land Rover brought back the Defender SUV in the market few years ago. It is one of those SUVs that has a huge fan following around the world. Land Rover launched the SUV in India too and it quickly became popular among buyers in a very short span of time. Many Indian celebrities have already bought this SUV and Actor Suneil Shetty is one of the latest celebs to buy this SUV. The actor bought a brand new Land Rover Defender 110 SUV which has a starting price of around Rs 1.05 crore.

It is however clear from the video that this is the 5-door version. Land Rover offers Defender in both 5-door and 3-door versions in India. The SUV 5-door version is called 110 and the 3-door version is called Defender 90. The numbers in the name denote the wheelbase of these variants. Land Rover also has Defender 130 in the market that can actually seat 7 passengers in it.

Land Rover Defender SUV is available with three engine options – two in petrol and one in diesel. The turbo petrol engines offered include a 2.0 liter-4 cylinder unit that generates 300 Bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. There is a 3.0 liter-6 cylinder unit that generates 400 Bhp and 550 Nm of torque. The turbo diesel engine which is one of the most popular pick is a 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder unit that makes 300 Bhp and 650 Nm of torque.

All these engine options are available with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Power from these engines are sent to all four wheels. 4×4 is a standard feature across all variants and versions. Land Rover Defender is imported to India and is sold as a CBU. The current generation Defender quickly grabbed buyer’s attention mainly because it offered rugged looks, off-road capabilities without compromising on comfort.
