Hot off the price announcement for the 4 wheel drive and automatic trims of the new Scorpio-N SUV, Mahindra has announced that actual deliveries will commence from the 26th of September 2022. Anticipating massive demand, the automaker is projected to build about 20,000 Scorpio-N SUVs this year. Expect year-long waiting times for certain variants.

Meanwhile, bookings for the all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N will commence from 30th of July 2022. Customers have two options to book the Scorpio-N: Online, through Mahindra’s website, and offline, through Mahindra dealerships spread across the length and breadth of India. Prices for the Scorpio-N start from Rs. 11.99 lakh, going all the way up to 23.9 lakh.

The introductory prices apply only to the first 25,000 bookings. We expect Mahindra to jack up prices once the initial crop of bookings are out of the way. Here are prices of various Scorpio-N variants,

Mahindra Scorpio-N production and delivery details revealed

The all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N is a big step up from the older version, some of whose variants will continue to be on sale as the Scorpio Classic. The new Scorpio-N doesn’t just get completely revamped looks but also a totally different, body-on-ladder chassis, a completely new suspension, new features and even new engines. The new SUV is a totally new car, inside-out, and this is probably why Mahindra is pricing it at a premium and hoping to pull off a 30 lakh rupee on-road price tag for the SUV’s top-end variants.

The Scorpio-N is offered with turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. The petrol motor is a 2 liter-4 cylinder unit good for 197 Bhp-380 Nm (370 Nm in the manual trim) while the diesel is a 2.2 liter-4 cylinder unit available in multiple states of tune: 130 Bhp-300 Nm for the base trim and 172 Bhp-370 Nm for higher manual trims. The top-of-the-line diesel automatic trims make 172 Bhp-400 Nm. While both engines get 6 speed manual and torque converter automatic gearbox options, only the diesel gets a four wheel drive system as an option on specific trims. The rest of the Scorpio-N variants – including those powered by the petrol engine – are rear wheel driven.
