‘Bridgerton’ Season Three Premiere Date Set for 2024

Dearest gentle reader, the wait is nearly over: Shondaland‘s Bridgerton will (finally) return in 2024. Netflix announced Tuesday the third season of the sultry period drama will divide its eight episodes into two parts, with teh first arriving on May 16, and the second June 13.

Helmed by showrunner Jess Brownell (Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal), the third season follows Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan) as her prominence grows in regency England and she attempts to keep her Lady Whistledown persona confidential.

Throughout the series, viewers have watched Penelope attempt to win over an oblivious Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton). Following Colin’s disparaging remarks around the dandelion-dressed Featherington in Season Two, Penelope decides to moves on and seek a husband that can support her gossiping habits as Lady Whistledown in the new season.

After a failed trial run in the marriage market, Colin returns from his summer travels, only for Penelope to give him the cold shoulder. But he’s eager to restore their friendship, and as he attempts to help Penelope find a partner, a romance between the former pals begins to blossom. Meanwhile, Penelope’s ex-companion Eloise Bridgerton, played by Claudia Jessie, who forms a new friendship in an unlikely place.

Season Three will feature familiar faces from the ton including Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh), Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), the newly married Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), and sisters Philipa (Harriet Cains) and Prudence Featherington (Bessie Carter).

The series is executive produced by Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen.
