Build dual DIY soldering station
The Weller soldering stations are among the best of their kind – but also among the most expensive. You don’t have to do without the quality of the RT soldering tips if you supplement them with a self-made supply unit. Our HotPens project fires two pistons with 40 and 150 watts and is therefore prepared for all soldering work. We have also added a comfortable microcontroller control with a touchscreen.
In Make 6/21 there are step-by-step instructions for the project, which, with a time commitment of 10 hours and costs of 80 to 100 euros, does not break the budget for money or time. However, the project requires some knowledge of electronics and programming – and we also wanted to mention that you naturally need a soldering station to convert a soldering station.

If the circuit is clearly small and not intended for eternity, a breadboard or a breadboard is sufficient, but more extensive projects require a real circuit board. We show a simple way from the layout to the milled sample circuit board.
