Just in time for holiday get togethers, Snoop Dogg has teamed up with E-40 for a new cookbook inspired by the rappers’ musical catalogs and their favorite meals to eat with friends and family.
Titled “Goon With the Spoon,” the book was released over Thanksgiving and quickly shot to number one on Amazon’s cookbook chart. The 192-page book features more than 65 recipes that include everything from alcoholic (and non-alcoholic) drinks, to main courses, to desserts. Think dishes like “Ridin’ Dirty Shrimp ‘n’ Grits” and a “Bacon Cheeseburger Lumpia,” inspired by E-40’s Filipino food business in the Bay Area (and the traditional Filipino fried spring rolls).
Playful nods to Snoop’s love for the leaf abound, like his “Corned Beef With All the Hash” and fluffy “Green Brownies” (the “green” comes from the mint chocolate used in the recipe).
This is Snoop Dogg’s second cookbook, following his best-selling 2018 volume, “From Crook to Cook (the recent Rolling Stone “Musicians on Musicians” cover star even offered his cover co-star Latto a cookbook). E-40, meantime, tells Rolling Stone that he grew up in the kitchen, revealing in a recent interview that he often had to cook for his siblings, as the eldest of four children. As for where the title of the book came from? E-40 began showing off his cooking skills on social media a few years ago, tagging his culinary creations with the hashtag #GoonWithTheSpoon. Snoop liked the moniker so much, he agreed to make it the title of their collaborative cookbook.
Listed at a price of $24.95, an Amazon deal gets you the new Snoop and E-40 cookbook on sale for just $13 here — a 45% off discount.
This isn’t the only food-related release from Snoop Dogg this Christmas: the rapper also recently started selling “Snoop Cereal” on Amazon, with flavors like “Cinnamon Toasteez,” “Frosted Drizzlerz” and “Fruity Hoopz” (with marshmallows of course). Shop Snoop’s cereal now on Amazon.com.
