The Camera Assistant app is expanding to the Galaxy A53 and the Galaxy A54. Both mid-range smartphones now have access to Android 14 and One UI 6.0, and with that, they’re now compatible with the Camera Assistant app that offers more advanced camera settings.

If you have a Galaxy A53 or Galaxy A54 running Android 14-based One UI 6.0, you can now head over to the Galaxy Store app and download the Camera Assistant app. It ties into the stock camera app on both smartphones and offers advanced settings and features. The latest version of the app (2.0.01.0) brings some bug fixes, too. The Galaxy A73 is also expected to get Camera Assistant compatibility with the One UI 6.0 update.

The Galaxy A54 started getting the One UI 6.0 update two weeks ago, while the Galaxy A53 received the stable Android 14 update last week in some countries. Samsung announced eight months ago that it plans to bring Camera Assistant support to some mid-range phones, and the rollout has officially begun.

With the Camera Assistant app, you can turn off HDR capture, choose the balance between quality and capture speed, and change the default timer capture interval and the number of images it cameras in the timer mode. If you don’t like Samsung’s usual image-sharpening aspect, you can dial things down with the Camera Assistant app.
