Carly Pearce Announces New Album ‘Hummingbird’: Hear Title Track

“This is the most unapologetically ‘Carly’ song I’ve ever written,” the Kentucky native says of new single

Carly Pearce has shared her new single “Hummingbird,” the title track of her upcoming album, due out this summer.

“When I wrote this song, I knew I wanted this to be the title of the album,” Pearce said in a statement. “This song plays on my bluegrass roots but also lyrically tells the story of the journey I am on of finding love. This is the most unapologetically ‘Carly’ song I’ve ever written.”

Hummingbird, Pearce’s follow-up to 2021’s 29: Written in Stone, was co-produced by the Kentucky-born singer-songwriter — her first time producing her own album — alongside Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally, her collaborators on her last LP.

“The last few years have been a season of loss and growth, of healing and happiness. A belief that if I did the inner work, I would rebuild myself stronger than I was before, and a knowing that I have done some living and will always be unapologetic about it,” Pearce added on social media. “These 14 songs incapsulate my confidence that there is light on the other side of darkness and my true love of country music.”

In addition to “Hummingbird,” the album — due out June 14 and available to preorder now — also boasts Pearce’s Grammy-nominated single “We Don’t Fight Anymore” featuring Chris Stapleton.

“When you hear this album — Wherever you are on your journey, I hope it shows you that pain can be a lesson that shows you just how strong you are and what you truly deserve,” Pearce added. “That we can all find the ‘hummingbird’ in the midst of whatever we’re going through.”
