Samsung released the May 2022 security update to the international and US unlocked Galaxy S20 variants two weeks ago. Now, the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy S20 has started getting the security update, just days before the end of the month.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with firmware version G988USQS2FVE7. This update is meant for the carrier-locked models of the phones in the US and is rolling out on T-Mobile’s network. It brings the May 2022 security patch to fix dozens of privacy and security vulnerabilities. It might also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

If you are a Galaxy S20 user in the US with a carrier-locked model, you can now download and install the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 series in early 2020 with Android 10 on board. The phones in the series received the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update in late 2020 and the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update in late 2021. They will get one more Android OS update sometime later this year or early next year.
