Billionaire technology investor Chamath Palihapitiya announced on social media platform X, the launch of 8090, a new incubator fully funded by him, to help enterprise software startups get off the ground.

Palihapitiya, who runs Silicon Valley-based venture fund Social Capital, further explained that 8090 will use artificial intelligence (AI) and offshoring to keep costs low and development times short. The incubator will also provide startups with access to a network of mentors and advisors.
Palihapitiya is a Canadian-American entrepreneur and venture capitalist, born in Sri Lanka. He was among the earliest employees of Facebook. The billionaire investor currently faces a number of lawsuits filed against him by investors burned by his push for special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), or blank-cheque companies.
