Chandrayaan 3 moon mission set for July launch: Jitendra Singh

During a media interaction at a public rally, the minister stated that if all goes as planned, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will undertake the ambitious Chandrayaan 3 mission, aimed at demonstrating crucial technology required for landing the spacecraft on the Moon’s South Pole.

He further mentioned that earlier this year, Chandrayaan 3 successfully completed essential tests to validate its capability to endure the challenging environment during launch and subsequent travel.

Jitendra Singh said, India’s earlier lunar mission, Chandrayan -1 had earned India a place of pride and supremacy in the world arena by identifying for the first time ever, the presence of water on the surface of moon. This input was noted with great significance even by the world’s premier Space agencies like the USA’s NASA, he added.

Chandrayaan-3 serves as a follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2 and is aligned with the theme of “Science of the Moon.” The lander and rover of Chandrayaan-3 will carry scientific instruments capable of studying various aspects of the Moon, including its environment and thermo-physical properties. Additionally, an experimental instrument incorporated in the mission will facilitate the study of different aspects of Earth, leading to the concurrent theme of “Science from the Moon.”

In his address at the public rally, Jitendra Singh emphasized the transformative nature of various public-centric schemes introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past nine years. These initiatives aim to uplift sections of society that were previously neglected and are expected to bring about socio-economic transformation while reshaping social culture and behavior.

He further highlighted that schemes such as Rozgar Mela, startup India, and Mudra Yojna have been designed with sensitivity and compassion to provide equal opportunities for the youth, rewarding their capabilities and hard work. The minister also underscored the significance of schemes such as Ujjawala and Swachhta (toilets) in ensuring convenience, safety, reverence, and dignity for Indian women.
