Cobra Kai’s Tanner Buchanan Becomes Batman’s ‘Worst’ Robin In DCU Concept Design
With the DC Extended Universe nearly over and the rebooted DC Universe on the way, the main film and television canon is being revised. “The Brave and the Bold” is set to introduce yet another new live-action take on the Batman mythos, with the Robert Pattinson-led “Batman” franchise left to exist under the DC Elseworlds label. In “The Brave and the Bold,” the new Dark Knight will be joined by Robin, specifically his biological son, Damian Wayne. In most comic continuities, Damian becomes Robin after Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, and Tim Drake, so there’s a good chance all of these characters could be active in the DCU during the events of this film.
If this is the case, Tanner Buchanan is a prime choice for the role of Todd. Not only does he look the part and have the ability to portray Todd’s troubled, edgy personality, but it’s hard to ignore the fun of the “Cobra Kai” cast reunion his DCU introduction could bring. Alongside the likes of John Cena as Peacemaker and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Xolo Maridueña as Blue Beetle will be one of the few DCEU castings to carry over into the DCU. Maridueña famously plays Robby Keene’s rival-turned-friend, Miguel Diaz, on “Cobra Kai,” so seeing him and Buchanan either team up or come to blows within the DCU could make for an entertaining watch.
