ROUND – 1

  • The first round was an online test, consisting of one programming question and multiple-choice questions on computer networks, OOPs, SQL, etc.
  • The programming question was related to strings and was of medium level. Other candidates had a question related to graphs.
  • The interview was conducted online on HackerRank.
  • The quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning part were more predominant, and the questions were intuitive and tricky rather than typical paper pen/formula-based questions.
  • The technical aptitude part covered questions from computer networks, operating systems, data structures (particularly trees), digital electronics, microprocessors, and other electronics topics. There were also C output questions.
  • It is suggested to practice from sites like GeeksforGeeks, Indiabix, etc., as it will give confidence in solving problems.
  • Suggestion : Doing quizzes from GeeksforGeeks can help to get in touch with all concepts of C and other subjects.
  • Tips : It’s important to approach the test with a calm and focused mindset. Remember that you have 60 minutes to answer 50 questions, so don’t rush or stress yourself out. If you encounter a difficult question, don’t spend too much time on it initially. Instead, move on to the next question and come back to it later if you have time. Keep in mind that staying calm and focused will help you perform your best on the test.

ROUND – 2

  • The second round of the interview was conducted online on Microsoft Teams.

  • The interviewer started by asking about the projects listed on my resume, and wanted to know more details about each project.
  • Tips : When talking about your projects, make sure to highlight the key features and challenges you faced, and emphasize your role in the project’s success.

  • Then, the interviewer asked some behavioral questions, such as asking me to explain myself and my career objectives.
Tips: For behavioral questions, it’s important to be honest and concise. Focus on highlighting your strengths, motivations, and goals.
  • After that, the interviewer asked three technical questions related to C programming language.

  • The first question was about writing a program to check if a given string is a palindrome or not.

  • The second question was related to dynamically allocating memory for a string using the strlen() function.

  • The third question was related to linked lists, specifically adding and deleting the last element from a linked list.

  • Overall, the interview was a mix of questions related to both technical skills and behavioral traits. The online format on Microsoft Teams was convenient and easy to use.

Here are some suggestions for cracking this interview:

  1. Review your technical skills related to C programming, such as string manipulation, dynamic memory allocation, and linked lists. Make sure you understand the key concepts and can apply them to solve problems.
  2. Practice answering behavioral questions, and prepare concise and impactful responses that highlight your strengths and goals.
  3. Review your resume and projects, and be prepared to discuss them in detail. Be ready to talk about your role, key challenges, and how you overcame them.
  4. Practice coding problems related to the topics covered in the interview, such as string manipulation, dynamic memory allocation, and linked lists. You can find many resources online to help you with this.
  5. Familiarize yourself with Microsoft Teams and ensure that your audio and video equipment is working properly before the interview.
  6. Before the interview, take some time to relax and mentally prepare yourself. Get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy meal, and dress appropriately.
  7. During the interview, listen carefully to the interviewer’s questions, take some time to think before answering, and communicate your thought process clearly. Don’t be afraid to ask for clarification if you’re unsure about something.
  8. Finally, remember to be confident and positive, and show enthusiasm for the opportunity to work with the company.
