Crash On The Run Is Being Killed Off (Already)

0 21

Last year, King, the maker of Candy Crush, gave us a new mobile Crash Bandicoot game called Crash On The Run. It was an interesting take on the character and the whole crash universe. However, according to the the team (via Engadget), Crash On The Run will officially be shut down. This is a bummer, as the game hasn’t been out for that long.

Crash On The Run was a pretty good game. At first, it almost seemed like an infinite runner. You would run down three lanes while avoiding obstacles and defeating enemies. However, there were specific levels and boss battles to fight.

While this game did bring much of what we love from the franchise to the small screen, there were the typical in-app purchases and different currencies that you expect from modern mobile games. However, Crash On The Run is an enjoyable game.

Crash On The Run is being shut down

This was a bit of a confusing story. A user found that Crash On The Run was no longer available on the Google Play Store. Upon contacting customer support, he was told that the game was not delisted from the Play Store and that the team was excited about the new content coming to the game. This made us think that the game was not going anywhere.

However, not long after that, the team officially announced on its Facebook page that the game is indeed going away. According to the post, the servers for Crash On The Run will be shut down this coming February. Once that happens, you will no longer have access to the game. Also, starting in December this year, players will no longer be able to make in-app purchases. They can still spend the in-app currency.

What makes this disappointing is the fact that Crash On The Run only launched last year. The game came out last March. When the servers are shut down, Crash On The Run will be one month shy of two years old. This is minuscule compared to King’s most popular IP Candy Crush. If you have the game and you enjoy it, you’d better get as much gameplay in as you can before the day of Reckoning, February 16th, 2023
