Dakota Johnson and Justin Timberlake Tease Upcoming SNL Episode
Timberlake will be the musical guest while Dakota Johnson hosts this weekend
Justin Timberlake is ready to throw hands against some Muppets on Sesame Street.
SNL released its teasers for this Saturday’s upcoming show, where Timberlake is set to perform as musical guest while Dakota Johnson will take on hosting duties. Johnson and Timberlake were joined by cast member Sarah Sherman for the promos this week, and she made jokes about how attractive the two guests were, as well as a loosely topical quip about Oscar snubs.
“I’m still sad about my Oscars snub,” Sherman said with a pout as Johnson asked her what’s wrong. After Timberlake inquired about what movie she was in this year, she further clarified she was talking about getting rejected by Oscar the Grouch, the show’s fan favorite curmudgeonly and apparently picky puppet. “Not that kind of Oscars snub,” Sherman replied. “I asked Oscar the Grouch out and he said, ‘Sorry, honey, I live in the trash, I don’t date it.”
Walking off screen, Timberlake yelled: “Tell me how to get to Sesame Street, and I will beat his ass.”
Elsewhere Sherman joked that she’d be “bringing sexy back” with a skit where everyone’s heads explode, which Johnson said was “hot.”
Timberlake released his new song “Selfish” on Thursday, the debut single for his upcoming sixth album, Everything I Thought It Was. He’ll likely perform the song live on Saturday. The album marks his first in six years, following 2018’s Man of the Woods.
Johnson, meanwhile, is starring in the Marvel film Madame Web, which is set to release on Valentine’s Day next month. Rolling Stone declared the movie one of the most anticipated films of 2024.
