0 29

Most of the time when an accident takes place on an Indian road, the blame is often pinned on the bigger vehicle’s driver. However, it is not always the case that the driver of the bigger vehicle causes the accident. Recently, a video of one such accident where a Tata Punch came in front of a speeding truck and collided has been shared online. The owner of this Tata Punch, despite making a mistake, shared the dashcam footage and appreciated the build quality of the Tata Punch micro-SUV.

Tata Punch Accident

The video of this Tata Punch micro-SUV crashing with a sand tipper truck on a highway has been shared on YouTube by Nikhil Rana on their channel. It starts off with the creator mentioning that this video has been submitted to him by one of his subscribers. He begins by stating that this dashcam footage, shared by his subscriber, shows him getting in the way of the sand tipper truck. He explains that he, along with his wife and five-year-old son, were traveling to Tirumala to visit the Lord Balaji Temple.

He then elaborates that after 10 minutes into their journey, they reach a three-way junction. According to the owner, he stopped on the road to let the sand tipper truck pass him, but he still could not avoid it and crashed with his Tata Punch. He states that their car turned around 180 degrees, and the entire front of the car got severely damaged. The owner of the car added that upon insurance inspection, the car was deemed a total loss.

Who was at fault here?

Despite the owner claiming that he stopped at the three-way junction, it can be clearly seen in the dashcam footage that he did not stop. Additionally, the truck driver saw him and started applying the brakes as well. However, the truck, carrying so much mass, could not stop so quickly, and the accident could not be avoided. In addition to the damage on the Tata Punch, it can be noted in the video that the truck also tipped over. From the footage, it can be seen that the entire fault in this accident was with the Tata Punch driver as the right of way was with the truck driver, and the Punch driver should have let the truck pass first and then crossed the road.

He added that his son then collided with the dashboard, and three of his front teeth were broken. Next up, he states that his wife, who was sitting in the rear seat, also sustained some injuries on her neck from which she recovered after 3 weeks. Thankfully, the truck driver also survived the crash without any serious injuries.
