Do you remember the early Scorpio advertisements on television? Yes, the mid-size SUV from Mahindra was always portrayed as a muscular vehicle. The Mahindra Scorpio has always had a bulky appearance, which attracts people who love raw-looking vehicles. Since its launch in 2002, the Mahindra Scorpio instantly became a hit and over the years, it has become synonymous with SUVs in the Indian market. Throughout the years, there have been several modified Mahindra Scorpio SUVs in the Indian market. Here is one that truly resembles a powerful beast, painted in black.

DC2 Scorpio

The Mahindra Scorpio has undergone modification by DC2, formerly known as DC Designs. The modification job maintains the essence of the original Mahindra Scorpio while giving the vehicle a more aggressive appearance. It features a distinct grille with a cross design and a LED light bar positioned just below it. Although the headlamp units remain unchanged, the bumper has been updated and now showcases a completely different look. The robust bumper contributes to the SUV’s intimidating presence. It is unclear whether the bumper is constructed from FRP or solid steel materials.

The bonnet of the Mahindra Scorpio has also undergone a redesign. It now features a substantial hood scoop that enhances its muscular appearance. However, it should be noted that this scoop is purely cosmetic and does not serve any functional purpose. Functional scoops are typically added to allow increased airflow to the engine, acting as an air inlet for the intake system. In this case, since no modifications have been made to the engine that would necessitate such alterations, the hood scoop is purely aesthetic.

The profile of the Scorpio remains largely unchanged, with the exception of semi-roof rails and new alloy wheels. Additionally, auxiliary lamps have been mounted to the front of the vehicle. The rear of this modified Mahindra Scorpio stays faithful to the original design, with the exception of a more robust and muscular-looking bumper compared to the stock version. The tailgate remains unaltered, but it now features a new cladding. Furthermore, the rear proudly displays a DC moniker from the modification garage.

DC Design has built a strong reputation for its lounge conversions and extensive interior renovations. However, it appears that this specific Mahindra Scorpio, known as the Scorpio Classic, has not undergone significant interior modifications by DC North East. It is worth noting that Mahindra introduced a new generation of Scorpio called the Scorpio N to the market last year. The Scorpio N has quickly gained popularity and has become one of the most sought-after SUVs in its segment. Notably, the Scorpio N is currently the sole SUV in its category to offer a robust 4×4 system. As of now, we have yet to witness any modifications done on a Scorpio N by DC Design.

While these modifications look great on the Scorpio, it should be noted that any type of modification on a vehicle is illegal. Cops can actually seize the vehicle or even cancel the registration certificate of a vehicle with modifications. These vehicle can however be used on private properties and showcased at expos.
