design, colours, and new position for alert slider

OnePlus 12 alert slider is on the right side, but why?

We have seen OnePlus ditching the alert slider altogether. While its moves aren’t as drastic this time, the mute switch’s placement has been moved to the right side of the device.

The company says that based on its internal testing, it has been found that the gaming antennas must be ideally present between the forefingers of the user while the device is held in landscape mode. At present, the alert slider is present on this spot and therefore, it decided to move the slider to the other side.

So, the alert slider is situated on the right side of the OnePlus 12 to facilitate better gaming antennas. These are said to be ultra-compact full-band antenna technology with signal improved by 3dB and the game latency reduced by 15%.

OnePlus 12 colours and design

As per the official Weibo postings, the OnePlus 12 will be available in green, white, and black colour options. The green in particular is being called “Flowy Emerald” (machine-translated). It looks inspired by nature.

Speaking of nature, we have also come across a wooden back of the OnePlus 12 in one of the recent leaks. However, it is not officially corroborated yet.

The back is glass and there is a giant camera island and a relatively smaller brand logo. The camera island consists of a “4th-gen Hasselblad Camera for Mobile” and a 3x periscope zoom lens.

The front is flatter compared to the slightly curved back. Up front, there is a central punch-hole cutout and narrow bezels.

You can check out its expected and confirmed specs and other details here.

It will launch on December 5th, which happens to be a day after OnePlus’s 10th anniversary event. The OnePlus 12R is also expected to debut alongside it.
