Destiny 2 API accidentally reveals Into The Light gear

0 15

Destiny 2‘s Season 23 is essentially done and dusted, but one of the game’s most important updates is now on the horizon. As this year’s Guardian Games rage on, hoverboards and all, some are more excited about the upcoming Into The Light release, whose leaked gear banks heavily on nostalgia.

The information we’re about to share comes straight from Bungie’s Destiny 2 API, as per the ever-popular Today in Destiny website. Notably, Today in Destiny is a powerful third-party utility that helps Guardians keep up with the game via their Internet browsers. One of TID’s most useful features, specifically, is its Eververse calendar, giving you a glean into what items will be available for Silver or Bright Dust months ahead of time. The latest API update has thus revealed that some of Destiny 2‘s most historically popular weapons, such as the Pinnacle Recluse SMG, will seemingly make a return.

Destiny 2: Into The Light will seemingly bring back fan-favorite weapons and more

As per Today in Destiny, it would seem that the Recluse SMG and the Hammerhead machine gun are set to make a triumphant return to Destiny 2, alongside a few other notable weapons, such as the Loaded Question fusion rifle. This information comes from the Legendary-tier weapon ornaments that will be sold for Bright Dust in the coming weeks and months, and since not all Pinnacle/Ritual weapons have had a dedicated ornament, it’s entirely possible that the Recluse and the Hammerhead are just the tip of the spear, as it were.

Copium though it may be, the return of the Hammerhead may even signal that the much-requested Black Armory weapons might make a comeback, though we do recommend keeping a handful of salt about that, just in case.

Note that Bungie has previously officially confirmed that Into The Light would include a roster of new and returning weapons to spice things up. Considering just how problematic a year the game has had since the release of Lightfall, it shouldn’t be too surprising that Bungie might be looking to spice things up further still with the (re)introduction of fan-favorite gear, perhaps.

The Guardian Games, too, are fairly interesting this time around. One particularly fascinating tidbit we’d like to highlight is the apparent out-of-the-blue return of Lysander himself. We recommend reading up on the hoverboard’s lore to get more context on what’s going on, but it would appear that Bungie might finally resume one of the most obscure Destiny 2 lore tidbits the franchise has ever had, now that the leader of the rogue Concordat faction has taken an interest in the Guardians once again.

Overall, good things ahead, now it just remains to be seen whether Bungie can actually realize Destiny 2‘s full potential on all of these fronts.
