Did the sunroof leak again? [Video]

Nothing on YouTube garners more views, likes, and clicks than controversy. Recently, another YouTuber attempted to recreate a scenario that had previously sparked a massive controversy in the country. If you’ve been following automotive YouTubers for a while, you may have already guessed that we’re referring to the heated debates between YouTuber Arun Panwar and Mahindra Automotive. In a similar fashion, another YouTuber has once again taken a Scorpio-N under a high-pressure waterfall, demonstrating that the sunroof still leaks.

The video, featuring another Mahindra Scorpio-N being taken under a high-pressure waterfall, has been shared on YouTube by Yash9w on their channel. The video begins with the YouTuber standing in front of the waterfall, stating that he will also test the leakage of his brand new Mahindra Scorpio-N’s sunroof by taking it under the waterfall. He shows the sunroof before the test and asserts that there are no issues with the rubber seals on the inside and outside of the SUV. Moving on, he opens and closes the sunroof fully from the inside, emphasizing that the entire clip will be candid without any cuts.

After waiting for some time for a tanker to fill up under the waterfall, he proceeds to take his Scorpio-N under the high-pressure cascade. The YouTuber asks his friend to shoot the video from the outside as well. In the video, he demonstrates that the Mahindra Scorpio-N doesn’t leak any water the first time it goes under the waterfall. However, during the second attempt, some water leakage occurs from the sunroof. Concerned, the YouTuber inspects the entire sunroof with his friend.

The presenter notes that there are a few water droplets coming from the rear side of the sunroof, but upon inspection from the inside, he states that it’s not a significant amount. He then shows the sunroof from the outside, mentioning that there are no visible signs of damage and no issues with the rubber seal on the exterior. Inside the SUV, the YouTuber states that although he could criticize Mahindra, it doesn’t make sense because the company advises against taking cars under high-pressure waterfalls. Additionally, he points out that such intense rainfall is unlikely to occur in the country, suggesting that sunroofs will probably never leak under normal circumstances.

For those unaware, a significant controversy erupted between another popular YouTuber, Arun Panwar, and Mahindra when Panwar took his Scorpio-N under a waterfall in Spiti Valley, resulting in heavy leaks and drenching the entire interior with water. In response, Mahindra took another Scorpio-N under the same waterfall, and it didn’t leak. The YouTuber then clarified that he never accused Mahindra of a design flaw or wrongdoing. His sole intention was to highlight a specific manufacturing defect in his car’s sunroof rubber.

Panwar emphasized in his response video that his initial intention was to showcase a manufacturing defect in his specific car, not to insinuate that all Scorpio-Ns suffer from the same problem. He urged Mahindra executives to visit service centers and witness similar or even more severe issues in new Scorpio-N models. Panwar insisted that his objective was not to tarnish the brand but to seek clarification on the matter. As a result, Mahindra repaired his SUV free of cost.
