Disney Star Destroys CEO’s ‘Unrealistic’ Strike With 10-Cent Royalty Check

0 37

Proving once again how out of touch the exceedingly wealthy are with the schmucks who don’t get paid an eye-watering fortune, Disney CEO Bob Iger has ruffled plenty of feathers by deeming the demands being made by the ongoing strike action in Hollywood to be unrealistic.

Let’s not forget this is the executive who takes home an annual pay packet of around $25 million per year, and he’s the one saying that writers, filmmakers, and actors demanding to be compensated fairly for their hard work and dedication to their respective crafts is ridiculous.

Showcasing how the other half live, Disney star JB Tadena – who was seen in the Mouse House-backed likes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Raya of the Last Dragon – swiftly and mercilessly obliterated Iger’s entire argument by revealing the most recent residual check he received from the company.

While specific context wasn’t provided, we’ll focus solely on Raya and the Last Dragon as an example. The animated hit – where Tadena was credited as “Additional Voices” so presumably played more than one role – cost over $100 million to produce and presumably almost as much to market, and was watched for 355 million minutes in the space of three days after being added to Disney Plus free of charge in March of 2021 after the pandemic had ruined its chances of box office success.

Tadena’s contributions have netted him enough to buy… well, pretty much nothing in the current economy, and yet the guy in charge of the entire company thinks the peasants are still asking for too much.
