iPhone 15 to get the Dynamic Island but still no ProMotion display?
Rumours have started flowing in about the next iteration of the iPhone, the iPhone 15, which is expected to be launched in 2023. The rumour suggests that the iPhone 15 will adopt the Dynamic Island design feature much like the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. If true, the iPhone 15 will finally move over from the notched design that was announced over five years ago with the introduction of the iPhone X.
The rumour comes from tipster Ross Young who suggests this new advancement. Ross also says in his tweet that the iPhone 15 is still unlikely to get the 120Hz LTPO ProMotion panel. This means that Apple is willing to hold out the high refresh display feature for another year when it comes to the vanilla iPhone lineup and reserve it only for the ‘Pro’ models. This feature set decision, according to Ross, depends heavily on the supply chain constraints, and the tipster claims that the supply line still cannot facilitate higher demand for the panel.
Apple sources its LTPO panels from Samsung and LG, while the standard 60Hz displays are supplied by BOE. BOE will not have the LTPO panels ready by the time of the iPhone 15’s launch, and thus Apple is likely to stick to the standard 60Hz panels with the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus.
