Winning Best Picture at the Academy Awards, Everything Everywhere All at Once capped a groundbreaking awards season and became the most honored Best Picture winner since 2008’s Slumdog Millionaire.

Everything Everywhere took home seven Oscars Sunday night, including Best Picture, Director, Original Screenplay, Lead Actress, Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, and Editing.

The director duo Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan won best direction, with Michelle Yeoh as the leading actress, Ke Huy Quan as the supporting actress, and Jamie Lee Curtis as the supporting actress.

With Michelle Yeoh taking home the best actress, she walked to the stage and thanked her team and her family. She said that this award is for all those ‘To all the boys and girls, this is a beaker for hopes and ladies don’t let anyone tell you you passed your prime. Dreams do come true and this is my dream come true.’ She dedicated the award to all the mothers and her family seeing her in Malaysia.

The director duo Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan took the award for best direction and thanked the Acacmedy, their team, and their families who did not compel them to leave movies and do something productive.

Just weeks before the Academy Awards, the movie won four awards at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, breaking the SAG record for most wins for a single film. The film A24 also won the Film Independent Spirit Awards this month with eight nominations and seven awards including Best Feature Film.
