Exterior, Interior Updates & Powertrain Options Revealed
After being on the sidelines for some time, recently Kia India unveiled its sub-compact SUV Sonet’s facelift in the country. The new Sonet facelift boasts a number of exterior and interior updates, and recently, a video showing this SUV from all angles has been shared online. The video shows the 2024 Kia Sonet facelift’s X-Line variant, which is the top trim of the car, in detail.
2024 Kia Sonet facelift: Exterior design details
The video of the Kia Sonet facelift X-Line has been shared on YouTube by MRD Cars on their channel. It starts off with the front left profile of the new Sonet facelift. From this picture, we can note that the car has been given a set of brand-new LED headlights. What’s also new about them is they extend downwards onto the front bumper, which also boasts an LED DRL.
Next up in the video, it shows the front fascia of the new Sonet facelift, which highlights the new front grille. It now gets redesigned elements along with black surrounds, and it now resembles that of the Seltos facelift. Apart from this, it can be noted that the front bumper has also been updated and made much more aggressive than before. This time around, the car also gets horizontally positioned LED fog lights.
Side profile
Following the front end, the video then shows the side profile of the car. It can be noted that the side profile largely remains the same as the outgoing model. However, the biggest changes here are the addition of a brand-new set of 16-inch directional diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Rear end upgrades
Coming to the rear end of the new Sonet facelift, the sub-compact SUV has been given a brand-new rear-end design. It now ditches the horizontal set taillights and instead gets sleek vertically positioned LED taillights. To add the modern flare, the company has also added a brand-new connected LED strip in the middle. Apart from these, the Sonet facelift also gets a brand-new rear bumper that looks a lot more aggressive than before.
Interior updates
The video also shares the interior of the new Sonet facelift as well. Unlike the exterior, not much has been changed on the interior of the Sonet. Along with the features offered before, there are a few new features in the Sonet facelift, which include LED ambient sound lighting, a 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console, voice-operated sunroof, remote windows up-and-down functionality, rear window sunshades, and an air purifier. The Sonet also receives six airbags as standard, along with an updated Kia Connect with more than 70 connected car features.
Powertrain options
Coming to the powertrain options offered with the new Kia Sonet facelift, the company has not changed anything. All three engine options, which were available in the previous iteration of the Sonet, have been carried forward. The Sonet facelift comes with a 1.2-litre 83 PS naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which will be offered in the lower-spec trims with a standard 5-speed manual transmission.
Following this, there is a 1.0-litre 120 PS turbocharged petrol engine, which will be offered with 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT gearbox options. Lastly, the 1.5-litre 115 PS diesel engine will be offered with three transmission choices between 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, and 6-speed automatic.
