Exynos makes a comeback with the Galaxy S24, for better or worse
Samsung’s Exynos SoC made a comeback with the Galaxy S24 series. To be more accurate the Exynos 2400 is the chip in question, and only in some regions, and only with two out of three devices.
Samsung announced its Galaxy S24 series today, consisting of three devices. The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra were announced. The Exynos 2400 SoC dropped in early October last year.

The company opted to use its processor once again, after skipping that practice with the Galaxy S23 series. The Exynos 2400 fuels the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ in select markets, not the US, though.
Why is that? Well, when we asked Samsung about it, the company mentioned the supply chain. So it seems like it was either not able to secure enough Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 units, or it was way easier/cheaper to do it this way. Either way, the supply chain problems are the reason why, said Samsung.
Considering the performance of past flagship Exynos processors, it’s understandable if you’re skeptical
Considering the fact that flagship Exynos chips tend to be inferior to their Snapdragon counterparts, some people are clearly skeptical. Though there’s a chance Samsung was able to change things around this time around.
We didn’t get a chance to use the Exynos Galaxy S24 or Galaxy S24+ yet, so we cannot attest to anything. Either way, it will be interesting to see how the chip compares to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
What about the Galaxy S24 Ultra, you may wonder. Well, that handset is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 globally. An Exynos version is not available at all, so if you’re planning to get the ‘Ultra’ model, you’re in the clear regardless of where you live. Needless to say, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is also the most powerful handset in the series.
