The company just announced some new controls that will give parents more control over who their children contact. This is the first batch of tools that the company’s pushing out.
These tools center around notifying the parent about what’s going on with the kid. The parent will be able to see who can contact their child. This way, parents can make sure that they’re only contacting trustworthy people.
These new tools give parents the ability to monitor their childs’ privacy settings. If their child makes any changes to those privacy settings, the parent will get a notification. This also goes for if the child makes any changes to their contact list. The parent will want to keep an eye on settings like these.
If the parent feels that their child spends too much time on Messenger, then they can see how much time their child is spending on the app. That way, they can limit their usage if need be.
Lastly, if their child reports any user to Meta, the parent will get a notification. However, they’ll only get the notification if the child chooses to share that information with the parent.
