Facelifted Honda Cars India City Hybrid C-Segment sedan with ADAS: New TVC released

The official commercial of the fifth generation Honda City’s ADAS features has been uploaded on YouTube on Honda Cars India channel. The video starts with a glimpse of the new-gen City finished in the shade of Obsidian Blue Pearl. Following this, a person can be seen touching the sedan and then getting seated in the driver’s seat. He then starts the car. It is then shown that a number of Ballerinas come alive from the ADAS camera.

After this, all the Ballerinas start guiding the car in the lane and the voiceover states that the car senses what’s ahead in a poetical manner. The car then starts driving in the path and then the ballerinas help the car from drifting away from the path. This visualization presents the functioning of the Lane Departure Mitigation System.

Following this, a Honda Gold Wing which is a cruiser motorcycle that the company produces is shown crossing the road and this situation presents the Collision Mitigation Braking System where all the Ballerina’s (ADAS system) of the car stop it from crashing. Lastly, the commercial also shows the Adaptive Cruise Control System of the car as well where it can sense the speed of the car in front. The commercial overall is the brand’s attempt to create awareness for the models new ADAS features and updates.

Honda launched the facelifted version of the fifth-generation City starting from Rs 11.49 lakh on 2nd of March. The top-end variant of the new City is priced at Rs 20.39 lakh for the top-spec City Hybrid. The new Honda City facelift gets a few minor cosmetic changes, more equipment, new entry-level variants and a new shade.

A few small changes have been made to the Honda City’s mid-life cycle update. Both inside and outside of the automobile, visual alterations have been made. The 2023 Honda City’s front end receives a new, thinner chrome bar and a few bumper tweaks. The modifications give the 2023 Honda City a modern flair. The vehicle still has its nine previous LED arrays.

For the more expensive models, the grille’s appearance has been updated with a new honeycomb pattern. Vertical slats are added to the less expensive versions. Apart for the alloy wheel design, the side profile is unchanged. For the entry-level models, there is a new alloy wheel design. The location of the reflectors at the back and the bumpers have both been modified by Honda.

In addition to the car itself Honda has also updated the new City with new entry-level models. Honda will only provide a manual transmission with the new SV level. The SV, V, VX, and ZX trim levels of the City facelift will be offered with the petrol type. For the petrol and hybrid versions of the facelift model, ADAS functions like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, and automated emergency braking are also included.

The petrol engine is still the only available powertrain choice with the 2023 Honda City Facelift. It comes powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and comes with a manual or CVT transmission. The hybrid model has an eCVT and a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine. In its class, only the Honda City offers both a hybrid and an eCVT.
