Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth – How To Raise Party Level And Unlock Folio Skills

0 12

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth adds a party level feature, and it comes with new skill trees for each character. As you explore the world and complete missions, the party’s level gradually increases, which then provides access to more skills and abilities in combat. Here’s everything you need to know about how to raise your party level and unlock folio skills in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

How to Raise the Party Level in Final Fantasy 7

There’s no shortage of ways to increase the party level while exploring the new open world. Overcoming major obstacles in the main story, helping NPCs with side quests, and exploring points of interest on the map will raise the party’s level. Even small optional tasks like activating remnawave towers and analyzing summon crystals or lifesprings provide experience points for the party.

Whenever you gain party EXP, the meter will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen, just like in the image below:

How to Unlock Folio Skills

The higher the party level, the more skills and abilities you can unlock in your folios. Folios are book-like skill trees in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and they’re similar to the weapon upgrade system in the previous game.

The folio skills are tiered, and will automatically unlock as you level up the party. Level two unlocks tier two skills, level three unlocks tier three skills, and so on. Spend skill points (SP) at Maghnata Books stores in towns to level up your party’s folios and unlock new skills inside skill cores. If you’re out on the road exploring, automat machines also allow you to unlock new skills–like a mini book store. These machines are often found right next to rest benches.

If you’re unhappy with anything selected, you can reset skill cores at any time, refunding the SP you used to unlock them. This allows for plenty of experimentation and preparation for specific challenges at zero cost. This way, you can try out every one of the new tag-team synergy abilities by swapping them in and out as necessary.
