Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming early 2024 on TWO DISCS

The expansive (dying) world

As part of 2023 Summer Game Fest, Square Enix has shown off a rather heaping helping of gameplay from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

It looks pretty great! It starts off showing the aftermath of the first game before showing off the world you’ll be exploring. There are a number of re-imagined scenes that will be familiar to anyone who played the original title, as well as some new surprises. There’s an especially big twist that I don’t want to spoil in case you don’t want to watch the trailer and prefer to go in blind. I respect that.

Perhaps the most exciting information here is that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is slated for early 2024. But most excitingly is that it’s coming on two discs. In this economy? I can’t remember the last time I saw a game come on two discs without it actually being two separate titles. Wow!
