Fortnite developer Epic Games is getting ready to unleash a brand new season in Battle Royale. According to the latest leaks, Fortnite Season 3 will launch alongside update 25.00 on June 9. It’s possible the exact date and timings will change, depending on whether or not Epic holds an end of season event or extended server downtime. Either way, the new Fortnite season is mere days away, and based on the early Battle Pass leaks, it’s shaping up to be something quite special.

Indeed, as you can see from the Shiina tweet below, the new Battle Pass will feature a crossover with the Transformers franchise.

Coinciding with the release of the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts movie, the Battle Pass will contain an Optimus Prime skin.

That’s on top of a new treasure hunter-style adventurer skin, a mechanic skin, plus a summer Meowscles variant. Additional Battle Pass skins will be revealed at launch.

As you can see from the artwork, the season will have a prehistoric/tropical theme, so expect lots of dinosaurs, foliage and perhaps even the long-rumoured volcano.

In addition to the tropical theme and handful of Battle Pass items, Fortnite insiders have uncovered one or two additional features coming to Season 3.

According to Hypex, helicopters will come equipped with a launcher that fires every couple of seconds. It will be particularly devastating to buildings.

The leaked loading screen with the Battle Pass skins also features a new weapon. The Lever Pistol is expected to pack a big punch at slower speeds.

Elsewhere, Epic Games is working an Epic/Legendary Thermal Bolt Action Sniper, as well as a Mythic Drum Shotgun.

There’s currently no word on an end of season event, and without another big update planned for this season, it looks like we could once again be going without.
