From Hawaiian beach to LA car crash
Pete Davidson had a jam-packed Saturday that’s a little hard to make sense of, and not just because it ended with him crashing a Mercedes into the side of a house in Beverly Hills.
It’s also because Davidson’s day began on a beach of Kauai, where he and his new girlfriend Chase Sui-Wonders were photographed by paparazzi, lounging with friends, TMZ first reported. Even though it usually takes about five hours to fly from Hawaii to Los Angeles, not including travel to and from the respective airports, Davidson managed to make it in time to present at the 36th Annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in downtown Los Angeles, which ran from 4 to 6 p.m. (or 2 to 4 p.m. Hawaiian time), TMZ also reported. Maybe Davidson and Sui-Wonders got a very early start on the beach on the other side of the Pacific Ocean.

Five hours after the Kids Choice Awards were scheduled to end, Davidson, 29, and Sui-Wonders, 26, were riding in a Mercedes in the Flats neighborhood of Beverly Hills. Davidson was driving at a high rate of speed at about 11 p.m. when the car lost control, jumped a curb, hit a fire hydrant and skidded across the front lawn of a house before slamming into one of its corners, TMZ and other outlets reported.
Photos and video of the accident show that the siding of the house was broken and pushed inward, while water was shooting up out the broken fire hydrant.
Davidson and Wonders walked away unharmed, and no one inside the house was hurt, TMZ reported. The comedian was not arrested or cited, according to Beverly Hills police. It also does not immediately appear that drugs and alcohol were involved, though an investigation is underway, TMZ also said. It’s also not clear if Davidson and Sui-Wonders had any interaction with the homeowner.
“It’s pretty wild that Pete and Chase were back in L.A. in such a short turnaround,” TMZ said. When the couple were photographed earlier in the day in Hawaii, they didn’t look like they were in a hurry to leave the beach, TMZ also said.

For whatever reason, Davidson appeared on stage at the Kids Choice Awards, wearing sunglasses, The Sun reported. Did he want to hide his tired eyes from jet lag? Or was just trying to look cool? In any case, he revealed that he was starring in the next Transformers movie, “Rise of the Beasts,” by appearing on stage with his castmates from that movie, Anthony Ramos and and Dominique Fishback.
“That’s right America!” Davidson said. “I’m doing action movies now! Sort of!”
Davidson was last involved in a high-profile romance with Kim Kardashian and previously dated Kaia Gerber, Kate Beckinsale and Ariana Grande. He and Sui-Wonders co-starred in the 2022 horror-comedy film “Bodies Bodies Bodies” and were first spotted together at a New York Rangers hockey game in December and have since been observed getting affectionate in other locations. They went public as a couple while on a trip to Las Vegas, The Sun reported.
A source told Page Six last week that the couple are “getting serious.”
“They’ve been friends a long time,” the source said, “and this romance grew out of friendship.”
