Kia has commenced the rollout of teasers for the upcoming Sonet facelift on its social media platforms ahead of its launch, hinting at the changes the compact SUV will undergo in its updated version. The video teasers of the Kia Sonet facelift, set to soon arrive on showroom floors, showcase the new front and rear lighting setups, along with several other modifications and additions in the facelifted model.

Starting with the front, the new Kia Sonet facelift presents significant changes to its headlamps, appearing larger due to the revised daytime running LEDs. While the size of the all-LED headlamps remains similar to before, they have been redesigned to incorporate new large, angular, and vertically-laid C-shaped daytime running LEDs around their outer edges. The grille between the headlamps also displays revisions with fresher inserts and chrome surrounds, as does the front bumper, featuring updated housings for the LED fog lamps.

The video teaser also offers a clear view of the extensively revised rear profile of the upcoming Sonet facelift. Contrasting with the current version’s horizontally-laid LED tail lamps with a reflector bar between them, the new Sonet facelift now showcases C-shaped LED tail lamps, resembling the design of the Seltos facelift’s tail lamps. An LED connecting light bar replaces the reflector bar between the tail lamps, rendering the entire tail light assembly even more prominent.

While the side profile of the new Kia Sonet facelift isn’t prominently visible in the pictures or visuals, it is anticipated to remain unchanged, with the SUV receiving a new design for the 16-inch alloy wheels. The teasers also reveal a few minor details of the Sonet facelift’s interior, suggesting that the compact SUV will feature a new full-TFT instrument cluster inspired by the Seltos facelift. The instrument cluster in the facelift also displays a warning for front collision, indicating that the Sonet facelift will incorporate Level-1 ADAS similar to the Hyundai Venue.

The center console appears slightly redesigned, continuing to house the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Expected features in the Kia Sonet facelift encompass a sunroof, front ventilated seats, powered driver’s seat, auto AC with rear AC vents, wireless charger, push start-stop button, and more. Powertrain options for the upcoming Kia Sonet facelift will remain unchanged from the current version, including a 1.2-litre 83 PS petrol engine with a 5-speed manual transmission, a 1.0-litre 120 PS turbo-petrol engine with 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT, and a 1.5-litre 115 PS diesel engine with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
