Galaxy A23 5G Clears Bluetooth Test As Samsung Prepares For Its Launch

0 53

In March this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy A23 as one of the first models of its 2022 Galaxy A lineup. The company is now gearing up to introduce a 5G variant of the phone. The Galaxy A23 5G has picked up various regulatory approvals over the past few weeks, including the FCC and the BIS. The device recently made it to the Bluetooth SIG certification website as well, hinting at an imminent launch.

Galaxy A23 5G moniker confirmed

The Bluetooth SIG website lists the upcoming Samsung phone, which bears the model number SM-236B, complete with its moniker — Galaxy A23 5G. Most previous sightings only contained its model number. Along with SM-236B, the phone is also identified by model numbers SM-A236E, SM-A236M, and SM-A236U. The latter should be the US variant of the handset.

The latest sighting doesn’t reveal much about the Galaxy A23 5G, except for the Bluetooth version (5.1). But the phone has also appeared on various other online platforms in the past, including Geekbench. Those listings revealed that Samsung will equip the upcoming 5G mid-ranger with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 chipset. This octa-core processor has two CPU cores operating at 2.21GHz and six at 1.80GHz. There’s the Adreno 619 GPU for handling graphics duties.

We also know that the Galaxy A23 5G will come in a 4GB RAM variant. Of course, there may be other RAM options too, as well as multiple storage variants. Samsung will ship the device with Android 12 out of the box, likely with its One UI 4.1 custom skin on top.

Other rumors about the upcoming phone include a 50-megapixel primary rear camera. Interestingly, the 4G Galaxy A23 also features a 50-megapixel main camera. So there’s a possibility that the 5G model would borrow the rest of the sensors from its sibling. The latter gets a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera at the back. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel camera.

The 5,000mAh battery and 25W fast charging support may also carry over unchanged. We’ll have to wait for more details about the Galaxy A23 5G to emerge before we can paint a clearer picture.

There’s no word on its launch yet

We have yet to hear anything about the Galaxy A23 5G launch. The leaks world is focused on Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in August. It will bring out the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldables, as well as the GalaxyWatch 5 series smartwatches. Likely, the Galaxy A23 5G will quietly arrive in stores over the next few weeks. We will let you know once it does.
