Galaxy A31 and Galaxy A41 get June 2023 security update

0 54

June is almost over, and Samsung’s next Unpacked event, where the company will launch multiple new flagship devices, is closer than ever. Samsung is no doubt busy preparing for that event and working on putting the finishing touches on the upcoming devices, but as usual, Samsung isn’t using that as an excuse to slow down the release of software updates for existing devices.

This week, Samsung has rolled out the June 2023 security update to two mid-range phones from 2020. Those phones are the Galaxy A31 and the Galaxy A41; both are getting the update in Kazakhstan at the time of this writing but we can expect other markets to join the club over the next few weeks.

The firmware versions for the Galaxy A31 and A41 June updates are A315FXXS3DWF1 and A415FXXS4DWF1 respectively. Since these phones are more than three years old, it should come as no surprise that the new updates only bring security improvements. Those security improvements include fixes for a number of critical vulnerabilities and many not-so-critical vulnerabilties, all of which Samsung detailed earlier this month.

If you own either the Galaxy A31 or the Galaxy A41, you can check if the new update is available for you by opening the phone’s Settings app, selecting Software update, and tapping the Download and install option.

You can alternatively download the complete firmware from our archive and use a Windows PC to install it on your phone. Updates are always rolled out in phases so you might have to wait a while to get the June update on your A31 or A41, so don’t be disappointed if it’s not already available in your country.
